Who is this for?
The 3-Day First Aid at Work (FAW) course is required for designated first aiders in high-risk environments such as construction sites, factories, agricultural settings, and manufacturing plants. It is also required for larger corporate offices with a high headcount.
This comprehensive course goes significantly deeper than the 1-Day EFAW, equipping lead first aiders to manage complex illnesses, major injuries, and life-threatening emergencies until paramedics arrive.
What You Will Learn
Over three days, you will master the full spectrum of emergency casualty care. The syllabus covers everything in the 1-Day course, plus advanced incident management:
- Incident management & primary survey
- CPR and safe AED usage
- Recovery position & casualty communication
- Treating adult choking
- Heart attacks, angina, and strokes
- Asthma, anaphylaxis, and diabetes emergencies
- Head injuries, concussions, and spinal injuries
- Chest injuries and crush injuries
- Fractures, sprains, strains, and dislocations
- Severe burns and scalds
- Poisoning and eye injuries
- Controlling catastrophic bleeding and shock
Accreditation & Assessment
Multiple-Choice & Practical Evaluation
You will be assessed via continuous practical observation by your trainer across the 3 days, alongside a straightforward multiple-choice question paper to verify your understanding of complex subjects.
Valid for 3 Years
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Ofqual-recognised Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work. This certificate is valid for 3 years, fulfilling your HSE workplace requirements.
